The 25MW Lake Mainit hydro power project will utilize a 3-km tunnel drilled on the west side of Lake Mainit, Brgy. San Pablo, in the municipality of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte to generate power. Electricity generated by the plant will be sold to the Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ANECO) through a 69kV subtransmission line constructed from the plant to the ANECO’s Santiago substation. The plant will house three vertical Francis turbines with maximum design flow of 101.52 cms. Subsequent simulation shows that the plant can generate 25MW of power, 131.4GWh of electricity annually with an overall efficiency and plant factor of 89% and 60%, respectively.
